thanx, Necro!
I don't know if it makes any difference in size, but i think Hope is the male of the two, and I'm pretty sure he'll even grow a bit larger in time.
At least "he" will become fatter, have more 'girth',like Cebo calls it and be more adult-shaped in time. :)
But that's my own logic ,seeing that the both of them differ about a year...(i'm guessing.)

SD's are great, but beware, like i stated in another thread, when one member of the group is sick or dying, the whole school will behave like Piranha's, the close relatives of SD's, and will kill and eat the sick member of the school.
I heard of this behaviour, but i recently found out they actually do... :pinch:
One of the school was completely devoured, and only a few spines were left, and 2 small pieces of the gillplates, the rest of the fish was completely finished.

But that only proves the stories i heard, and on the other hand, acting like this is their way of keeping the school strong, like with Piranha's be it kinda radical...
I allready knew they ate dead fish, for they steal my Gar's feederfish. :pinch:

I can use another SD too now, but i want to find a spotted one, and it has to be adult, to be safe from my Gar and Oscars. :P

Well at the LFS here there are 2 giant gars nobody is taking, they have been there for weeks, juvenile gars are very cheap here. Guys instead of trying to steel Noddy's gar come here there are plenty.

By giant Gars, do you mean something thet looks like this?

Because where a Florida Gar like mine, like i had from baby on, usually doesn't get larger than a foot, the Gator Gar will not stop growing and may reach 6-7 foot, given enough room to grow and eat.
This tank with the Gator Gars and fullgrown Arowana's and huge pangs, will be too small for them, even if it's one of the biggest tanks i ever saw!

I'd love to have one, but i'd rather have a Cuban Gar and be able to keep it in a tank, instead of having to dig a pond!
