Some more of my Red taken today during a waterchange.

The dark patches on his chin and gill plate area came about when he decided to make a break for dry land, ie break the lid and jump out

The jump happened months ago but the 'bruises' never cleared up

I count myself lucky it happended while I was in the next room so I ran in there and picked him up from the tiles and dropped him back in. Knocked himself out was looking half dead for about 2 days :( , then came good.

Another 'behind the scenes' shot for Nina, showing filters, Pleco turds awaiting syphon, and Pleco made and appearance. Those with a keen eye will spot the Gold Severum trying to get in the shot too

Hope you like.

Haha yeah group shot  At one point every fish in the tank was huddled together in one corner (probably as they saw my ugly mug approach :P )

I have no idea why it has stayed black for so long, maybe it is scare tissue? I say it adds character. I would say the camera exaggerates the darkness of it, and at certain angles it appears feignt.

Someone in know may chime in as to why his colour has permanently changed.

Oz is such a spoilt oscar. Is that a crayfish or a prawn?

I like the black band too. Never seen another one like it. I have no idea why it would stay like that. Maybe Rocksor has some thoughts?

it is a crayfish and yes to spoiled lol !!

yes don't get me wrong I like the black band also! deff set him apart in a unique way..

my guess is maybe he had deeper wounds than a normal scratch so it might be healing back funny ? no issue tho if you ask me... and shoot might eventually go back the right color

Here's my Kirby! He is so sweet, I just adore his personality!
He is still very young... about 5 inches now.
