I'm quite fond of my leaf litter, oak leaves work really well. I've read that most hardwood leaves from trees that aren't poisonous work well too.

Matt, I'd love to see your root structures. But your piranha are spectacular, so any excuse to see more of your tank :)

I love the baby tiger oscars! All of them, all the little ones, and Drama Queen too :)

Not quite done with editing yet, need to get rid of the sound of me breathing lol. But it isn't terrible I guess.

No, uncooked is fine, but I prefer the ones without their shells as that makes a bigger mess. Even these with the tails on will still make a mess lol

they look so shiny and peaceful :)

There's more of a frenzy in my malawi tank.

I like the way your driftwood is put as well, it really does look like mangrove roots.

Thanks Nina, once they stopped being terrified of it, the one pair actually claimed the under area as their nest, there's a pit dug, but no eggs yet. The male will chase off the others at times, but the female is only somewhat interested.

Thanks guys!

@Nina - I like how you leaves in your tank! It really does add that special touch to it. Do you have to do anything to them before hand or can you just rinse them off and put them in the tank?

@tehmole - very unique oscar! I love his colors and when he's full grown that orange is going to pop out against that dark body! It sounds like yall have been through quite a bit  I see why you call him drama queen. I hope drama queen is doing better now ;)

@Matt - Wow! That is a really cool setup with the sand and dw, it looks very nice! How old are your piranhas?
