they're so cute! Weezy is so shy at first. Did you feed them after a few moments? That sure brought him out of his shell :)

I think this was day #2 that we took this video. Weezy seems to be more laid back and then Ralph just flys up to the front of the tank and starts doing his feed me dance. They are starting to like my hands more too... When sticking my hands in the tank to do things they now come around my hand, its really weird, they used to totally avoid being near me and now they are coming right up to my hands, probably curious about what i'm doing?

They were attacking my hands during the transfer, and the fact I handfeed them doesnt help  they started to attack my hands in their old tank because we were doing things different and they didnt like it, so, they attacked my hand, it startled me! Ralph had never bite me before! Weezy does it all the time though, but it was a huge shock when Ralph did it, I dropped the sucky thingy into the water cause it scared me so much...

They look great, so much more happy int heir new digs :)

Very nice set up, I like the sand in the bottom too.

Ya know, i'd much rather an Oscar bite than a piranha bite, just sayin  I've actually been bitten by o's in the past, didn't hurt so much as startled me lol.

It didnt hurt, just scared me like crazy! And yea, we were debating between Piranhas and Oscars, we went with Oscars cause the teeth and Oscars are much much MUCH cleaner eaters. I think they bite my hand because usually I vaccume the gravel, but I didnt at first, and I was just sucking out water into transfer buckets, and they attacked my hand while doing that, so then after the buckets were filled I started to clean the gravel with the gravel vac and they stopped attack my hands once the normal routine started again.

My Oscar tried to eat my finger the other day & made me bleed! I just hope he hasn't got a taste for blood now.

Idk, my p's are pretty clean comparatively. O's going after pellets and crushing them causes a lot of uneaten food to slip between their gill plates.

My P's on the other hand tear clean chunks off and swallow whole. Granted we're talking about pellets vs. whole shrimp, but still I'd be interested to see what an O would do to a good sized shrimp.

When Christmas comes, I was ganna try shrimp, but wasnt sure how big of pieces to give them. I was ganna break off pieces of shrimp, so prbly about the same size as their pellets?

And yea, im talking about frogs, or anything basically like that, Piranhas will rip it apart, an oscar will eat it whole. I watched a video of Piranhas eating a frog, and thats what turned me to oscars, I dont feel like pulling out a half eating whatever, and I know leaving food sitting around, or dead things, isnt good for your water.

Giving food that is bite sized already leads to what I call parading lol, my guys will grab a piece of shrimp and like a dog with a bone they run from where they got the shrimp to their hiding place to actually eat it, it's kind of amusing to watch.
