OFL created the topic: Putting Music onto an IPod

hi there guys. I've had an iPod for quite a few years now, however, it's been about two or three years since I did anything regarding putting music on the iPod. I don't suppose someone could give me a quick run through an how I can wipe all the music that is on my iPod at the moment and then start from scratch. Either that I have to create a playlist if I want separate albums for instance. It's quite handy, when I put an album on from a CD, it automatically creates the folder/album for you. I just got a bit confused because I just plugged my iPod in and I can't work out how I can view the music that's already on it, it basically just says "do not disconnect" at the moment whilst it's plugged in

I added some songs to my iPod today using iTunes. I've got iTunes installed on another computer with another bunch of songs all contained in playlists. I thought today that I could plug my iPod into this computer and add all the songs. However it wanted to remove the songs that already on the iPod. I'm just wondering if I got the settings wrong, anybody got any ideas?

like i said itunes is not user friendly and confused me but i remember the best way is to build a playlist called music of ALL the songs you want even if there already on your ipod before hooking up your ipod then when your done hook it up and sync the whole playlist, otherwise it will replace the music you have on there. Itunes sucks i hated it and im so happy i dont have to use it anymore, i will never switch back off the android platform

Actually I've got my head around iTunes again. It's not a difficult program to use and it works really well. I create playlists for all my different bits of music, rather than putting everything on there together, that makes it a bit of a mess in my opinion. All I want to know is can I use two different computers with iTunes on each to put music on, or can I only use the one installation?
