OFL created the topic: Screen Capture Software

Has anyone ever used any screen capture software before? I am anticipating making some tutorial videos on how to use the website so I'm looking at various different types of software. One of the cheapest I have found that seems fairly good is called Snagit, just wondered if anyone has had any experience with this or any other.

my son did some work for college and used this, sorry don't ask me what is has or has not lol, but pretty sure it did all he wanted and was simple to use ;)

I have looked at this, I thought it was about 200 bucks, didn't realise it was free

actually, I think he could be right, I think it was Camtasia. I quite like how you can highlight the pointer arrow so it's obvious what you are actually clicking on

the mac comes with an application called 'grab' (free with the OS) and it allows you to do timed captures.....

I think windows has something similar..... I'll try and remember to check at work tomorrow:)

I think everyone is getting a little confused with what I am talking about. If I want to capture a screenshot and I will press print screen and paste it into photo shop. However, I want to record my desktop so I can make some cheat Orioles for the website showing people how to use the forum properly. Anyway, I think it is all sorted, somebody has got me a copy of quite a well-known program used for recording your desktop, it's not Cam studio, the other one, the name has slipped my mind for a moment

I think I know what you're going for...... would you save as a movie clip?

I think Office Live Meeting (part of Office Pro) has something like this (i.e. so you can record what you are doing on your screen, then save the "recording (i.e mouse movement/clicks, etc) to share with others)...... If you happen to have Office Pro that is:)

Let me check at work - won't be until Monday though (I'm taking tomorrow as vacation - yahoo!)
