Rocksor created the topic: Force Length Restriction on Signature Banner

If a user makes a signature banner too long, on IE 9, you cant read all of the user's message and you can't reply or quote them because the buttons become hidden under the frame (no matter how big I make the IE window). This is because what is written is as long as their banner, but the frame for viewing the message is much shorter. The only way to read the whole message is to hit the reply button from another poster to see what was written by the user with the long banner.

HA! I knew I wasn't the only one.

chrome doesn't seem to have this issue, neither does firefox, probably some MS crap that doesn't crop images

I would move away from IE 9 if I could, but I have no control over the machine that I am on.

chrome can be installed without the need for administrative rights ;-) as long as you can download the file you're good.
i've been looking at a way to block this myself as i don't want people installing their own browser at work.

This would be something Penn would have to look into as far as a forum software restriction Rock, nothing I can do.

SD could you resize your banner and keep it at 600 length or less in the meantime. Yours is the only one causing issues with IE users at the moment. Thanks

Cropping it won't help if the program you are using automatically resizes it. Does the editing program have a resize option? Check under properties
