With the Wishing Tank almost here, we're getting stock together in my 55 gallon to hold them there for a few weeks, and I picked up two Africans from the tiny fish store down the street yesterday (One of my favorite fish shops in the area! <3) Only thing is, their african selection is not identified. I have ideas of what these two might be, but I need some guidance especially with the smaller one. The pictures are poor quality because they were taken with my cell phone. The small one is darker than the image shows with slight bars and those yellow spots on the anal fin. I think they are both mbunas, but again, I'm not sure.

Specimen 1:
2.5" approx.

Specimen 2:
4" approx.

Generally, lfs with African tanks not labeled or saying mixed, or similar, are either unknown to them or hybrids of some sort. Especially true for Mbuna.. hundreds of flavors out there

Alrighty. They have mostly saltwater and south american cichlids, so their africans are in one giant 250 together. Hybrids don't bug me. When they aren't washed out in colors like they were in this pic, theyre gorgeous; I was hoping they had a distinctive species.
