Very beautifull tiger! :woohoo:
And he doesn't look that bad at all, at least compared to what i was expecting, or to what i've seen on the forum before.

We had some VERY severe cases of HITH, and members willing to give them a better life and with a lot of TLC, the fish pulled through and became happy and healthy , given more or less time.
If he's eating, and you do your job well, this will be one nice pet for you.

did you mention how big he is?
He looks quite big.

No i didn't mention the size noddy.
My nets 12" and hes bigger than that by about an inch maybe inch and a half.
He is one very good looking fish i'll give him that.
Funny thing is his markings are almost identical to the oscar that i've had since a baby, except this ones more pronounced where as lavas more of a red and theirs only about 4" size difference but then Lavas always had plenty of room and diet to grow however big as she wants.

wow, that's cool.
My tiger called Hope was a rescue too, but was in a very good shape when i got him.
He still is a lil' bit smaller than my Red, who's had the same priviledge of a 180Gl tank, since she was a baby.

Good o see he's docile and gentle already.
he must be gratefull. :P
enjoy your new fish!

Great job with the HITH, did your heater get broken or something, I don't think they run hot enough to do that, but I could be wrong. I dunno, maybe try moving it to a corner or if you have another one to swap try that. But still, great job nursing him back to health :woohoo: :woohoo:

Yeah i had to move the tank onto another stand during the week and dropped it.
Thankfully i had a spare here. I hadn't thaught of moving it lol.
Will try that and hope for the best. This isn't the first time i've had a fish burnt by a heater but if this is a burn its by far the worst, The faster this sump glue dries the better.
Thanks mate i'm happy with the way hes turning out. I am a little confused as to why he has a white patch either side though. It doesn't look like anything but an old wound though so i'll just leave that for now unless anyone recoginises it as something else.

I do hope not that water is so clean it is unreal.

Ammonia - 0
Nitrite - 0
Nitrate - 10 never allowed to get higher than this
ph. 7.6

If it is fin rot and its occuring when the waters kept this clean whats causing it. It means i would have to look beyond fin rot to what is causing the problem.

Well I can tell you this my tank is all cycled and my readings are 7.6, 0, 0, 5-10, and the fin is getting better all they say about the fin rot is keep the water clean.

Keep an eye on it and if the white spots starts going away or gets dark in next 2- 3 days then it’s getting better.
