Motherlupin created the topic: Treating ich in babies.

So my husband came home with a 3rd baby. he fell for the white fin stripe, anyways when we got our other 2 they had ich the store said they had just gotten them in. any tips on ways, medicating or non medicating to treat them. and maybe what brand medications to use and where i can find them, live in us. also i have a 5gal bare tank setup i was going to use for raising feeder guppies and ghost shrimp to feed them. should i move the 3 in there to treat them, its just got a bubble filter and a heater no light or anything. also if i were to treat with salt how much to treat a 40gal and just regular aquarium like marine salt?
heres some pics of the fish idk if you can see the ich or not on them camera not best quality
the first is the 2 i got yesterday and the rest i think are all the one my husband picked today

The ICK is now in your main tank so your just gonna want to treat them in there as you want to rid the tank of it too. Simply raise the temp of the tank to 86F and leave it there for 10 days AFTER the last spot has disappeared. I would do everyother day waterchanges with thorough gravel vacs during the process. This is a tried and true method that has worked time and time again for members of this site. No meds or salt necessary. Good luck! :)

Could you post a couple of better pics of the second fish? The white at the base of the tail looks like fungal infection to me...

Jason has you well covered, I had to do the same thing with my tank. Crank up the heat and fry those little parasites outta there

yeah, i think its just something in the background, he/she has a pattern there that goes around on both sides matches the other stripes. and the dorsal fin is more narrow and separated than the other fish so its shows the background through more. i'll see if i can get more pics today to show you what i'm talking about. i'm not very good at explaining things lol
