color changing oscars..

i have had my oscars for just about two months now. when i got them they were black and orange. now one has been getting really light fat stripes on him... is this noramal or could this have something to do with somthing im not doing right... take is a 55g and all levels are perfect.. there still babys, about 3''. thanx to anyone who can answer my question.

Oscars changing colors is perfectly normal. As they grow older, their colors develop hence why you notice a change. As long as your water is in pristine condition (ammonia 0, nitrites 0 and below 20 nitrates), then I don't think you have anything to worry about. :)

they change with mood and water temp as well when mine get mad they turn a darker color
