From everything on here I have read, the best cure is clean, pristine water. Lots of water changes and time. ;) I have read that it takes a long time to cure, too.

Did you ever get the salt problem fixed? I remember reading about it on another part of this forum.

We have had our Groucho (Tiger O) for over a year now...have watched him grow from 2 inches to pushing 11 inches! LOVE watching him swim around in his little 55 gal world. We also have a fancy goldfish and a black moor in a separate tank. We love our fishies!...[IMG]

That's a relief. I haven't had my O but for 2 months, but I love him to bits already. I would hate for anything to happen to him!

As I said before, though, that clean water with great perimeters is the best way to cure HITH. Good luck!

I'm sure you've read it by now but the article here on HITH is probably one of the best I've read. Most people here that are long term members have taken in a fish as a rescue with HITH. It is completely curable, do bear that in mind, but it won't go away as fast as ich or other common ailments do.

Your in good hands here and definitely feel free to ask as many questions as you'd like. In caring for O's I've learned there is no such thing as a dumb question.
