Maybe when he got shipped up to Canada he realized how cold it was and has a "shrinkage" problem :P

Kidding aside, he's a beauty in regards to colors, very vivid.

hi there

1. from the pics, your juvenile looks fine and normal.
2. although not pumped up but it is doing good.
3. different oscar reacts differently.
4. if you want mass, try feed it with prawn (cut into smaller chunks).
5. remember to remove unfinished pieces from your tank or else it stinks bad.
6. honest, 2 pellets per feed is little but don't overfeed the little cute one.
7. currently, i have 7 cuties in my 522: 4 reds & 3 tigers.
8. bought them in october (2 fish) and november (the remaining 5) this year.
9. they were about 1.5" in size when i bagged them home.
10. now, the first two are already 3.5" and the 5 are about 2".
11. rule of thumb: patience pays.
12. i rotate its intake: pellets, small frogs, feeder fish & prawns.
13. in singapore, small frogs, feeder fish and prawns are available on a daily basis.
