My oscar ever since I got him three months ago has had a hole in one of his two small bottom fins.
This hole has not healed or gotten worse and he is perfectly healthy other than that.
I was just wondering if it's maybe a scar and will it go away over time?
Could he have maybe been hatched with it? (Not sure if that's possible)
Doesn't affect him at all I'm just not sure how he could have gotten it.

We used to have a fish with a little bullet hole in his head. Perfectly healthy. Nothing wrong with him. It wasn't hole in the head or anything, just born that way.

I also have a rabbit (since I am a breeder) that was born with a little pin sized hole in its ear.

I am not sure what I would chalk that one up as. Probably birth defect.

All creatures have birth defects so I'm sure fish do as well, it's just that in the wild most defects have a way of being worked out of the system :S

I'm starting to wonder on my oscar if what appears to be laterial line erosion is just a scar on his side that he got when little and its just growing with him
