Jahangir created the topic: is my Oscar blind?

Hello I have a total of 6 oscars my latest addition is the youngest and the smallest, usually it's quit good at snatching food floating around! After one of the others bit it(no serious damage) it hasn't been able grab any food! the scratch on its head has been fully healed and I even put it in a separate tank to allow faster healing but it still seems to be missing the food! I thing it's blind because it's mississ all attempts to gobble up the pellets, please help!!! (no visible damage to the eyes)

I have experience with 2 blind fish.

1) BLINDY a turquoise severum endured quite a while.....I would touch his nose with a redworm held in a surgical clamp/hemostat and he would grab the worm even though he could not see it.
Without this method he would've quickly consumed all of his body fat. His tankmates always got there first.

2) TWISTY Twisty wasn't completely blind but he was a total klutz; an adorable freak of nature. He could not draw water through his gills as fish do to draw in food. To further complicate matters he would turn left when the food was on his right.......Twisty expired a few weeks ago after a long battle with terminal KLUTZ syndrome....(survived by his half sister (AVATAR) TWISTYSIS) Twistysis is the end of the line unless I find a "stud" for her.
