it's not that bad but it is still something to be worried about, I don't know why they don't go for their fins, they just go for each other's mouths....

It will likely heal on it's own in good water quality...
Aren't you having water issues???
And a bigger tank has been advised repeatedly, so I don't know what to say except expect the fighting to get worse!

lip locking is the real fight in fish... i am not familiar with gold saum
but mine are used to be pair but decided not to anymore... i was surprised
to see the lutino with a dangling upper lip LOL!

x2 the injuries are only going to get more severe if you don't fix your stocking

x3 I read your other posts. For the sake of the fish you should either choose one of the fish you currently have and rehome the rest or get a much larger tank then what you own. Your filtration on your 55 isn't good enough either. You need a filter or filters that are going to turn your tank over atleast twice an hour and with a 55 being the minimum for one oscar, I would get enough filtration for atleast 3 times an hour.

-OK first of all my tank is nearly cycled now, nitrites have dropped to zero and nitrates dropped to 20 as well, so water quality is Not an issue anymore.
-I gave away the severum and the convict to my friend.
-right now I'm looking for someone to take my oscar and the green terror (gold saum).
-Now since they have more space because I got rid of the convict and severum they have drastically stopped fighting, so they should be fine for some time while I look for new homes for them.
-also note....they are all very small fish!I'm Not talking about an 8 inch green terror, and two 12inch oscars, they are probably not older than 4months

Sounds like you are off to a good start... Keep moving in the right direction..! ::)

Unfortunately, Cichlids in general have a tendency to get an attitude about "Their space" at a very young age... So the fact that they are small right now really makes no difference...

Good luck finding a home for the others! :)
