I saw 3 white that look like scrapes on the back near the tail of my oscar. He does go alittle crazy when he eats and stir up gravel and this happened before and it turned out to be a scrape. Just rather be safe then sorry if it's ich

My oscar got ich within a month of my getting him from the lfs. I tried api super ick cure with benzaldehyde green and pvp. It didn't get all of it and it came back. The cure is salt and high water temperature.

I used 1 tablespoon for every 5 gallons and gradually raised the temp up to 85. Cured it no problem. It's best to dissolve the salt in some water before adding it to the tank. When the ich has cleared up, do water changes to get rid of the salt.

If it's not ich it's not going to harm your fish.

Also add the salt gradually and keep the heat up for a couple of weeks after not seeing any ich cysts
