Could be a burn. Poseidon had a burn on his tail and dorsal fin from when I moved him to his new tank and sat a heater in his bucket for a few hours. Similar white color, though not so modeled as Capone's. Poseidon's marks healed up completely inside of a week. Monitor it. If it doesn't start healing up soon then it is likely something else.

Looks like an abrasion of some sort....do a WC....it should heal up nicely. B)

WATER CHANGES ARE THE LIFEBLOOD OF THIS HOBBY. IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE SO OR SIMPLY DON'T FEEL LIKE DOING THEM, RE-HOME YOUR FISH, SELL YOUR AQUARIUM & FIND ANOTHER HOBBY, AS YOU WILL FAIL UTTERLY, COMPLETELY, & MISERABLY.

3rd on the abrasion - Henry gets marks like that occasionally. It's either caused by Adie getting snappy when Henry doesn't watch where he's going and literally barrels into her, or him accidentally scraping himself on driftwood or something.

That does look suspicious. But, doesn't look like hith. Whatever it is a good tank cleaning should do the trick. It's a good excuse for spring cleaning! I'm doing some myself today.

Is it possible for Capone to come into contact with his heater? could be a burn, maybe a heater guard!

Definitely keep an eye on it, but my god these fish are very creative when it comes to injuring themselves. Henry had a startle during the night last night (as did 2 of the SDs - god I hate when those little idiots panic and plow into the glass when they get startled at night) and has managed to scrape the inside of one of his pelvic fins, somehow. He's acting all sulky and traumatised as of this morning.

I'd say it's an abrasion because in the 4th photo you can see what looks like missing scales along the right side of his body. It's been my experience that these kinds of things heal pretty quickly.
