AZ Steve created the topic: strange bump??

Was kinda concerned. I switched pellets for the bichir's(from API bottom feeder shrimp pellets to Omega 1) The api are smaller and roundish. The omega are more like little hot dog shaped lol. Anyway...I noticed right after feeding Zephyer was swimming around kinda crazy like and I saw a rather weird bump on his belly.(dam phone screwd up so no pic or vid for awhile) But this morning he's fine bump gone... Could he have gobbled a pellet down sideways??? Should I break them up. Any input appreciated.

youre right, sounds like the food. I would just break it up as you suggested.

It sounds like that's a reasonable explanation. I know that most fish become accustomed to a certain type of food and don't often take well to change. But I think they should get used to the new shape -- I don't think you necessarily need to break it up.

Break them up and soak the pellets in tank water thwn just pour it back into the tank. Thats what I do with the omega 1 shrimp pellets. They are also sgapped like little hot dogs
