Hello everyone! I'm new to this site, heard about it off a friend and thought i'd check it out :) loving what im seeing so far, the knowledge of the members and support on offer is amazing! I'm hoping i can get some similar answer's to what ive seen so far with something thats been troubling me recently with my red tiger oscar.

Mr t is acting up, i recently moved house and he went through a bit of a change, he had it rough for about a week, small tanks, buckets without filtration, ect. He survived but the issue is he just acts slightly differently since.. Im not sure whats up. Seems less active and less coherant, swims backwards at times, or on his side, loosing scales, herpies on the chin.. It comes and goes though so i dunno what the faq is up. Ill show a few pic's and see if theres any ideas whats going on :)

whoa... base on your description... losing scales, swim backward and on his side... the toll of keeping him in small bucket without filter is now besetting the fish...

nevertheless. we will wait for the picture... btw, herpes on the chin might be just a normal pimple most oscar has...

welcome on board!

Welcome. I look forward to seeing the pictures. Hope it's nothing serious. Also, a video of him swimming might be helpful.

Welcome to OFL. Oscars don't like change most of the time and takes awhile for them to adjust. In fact they can be real drama queens. The chin pimple sounds normal as Draco said and seems to be a result of friction on the area from tank glass or substrate. My oscars over the years have always seem to have had it at some point and then it goes away. A vid would be even better than pics. Tell us about the setup for him. As much detail as possible from tank size to water parameters, filtration, water change schedule, diet etc... The more info the better to help us help you.

Go do a water change - the solution to pollution is dilution.
