I could be wrong but to my (limited) knowledge about driftwood fungus, it's totally harmless and quite common. Just scrape it off. Not really 'nasty stuff' at all just looks kinda gross.

It was. You've got your own little fungus farm on that driftwood by the looks of it :P

See what someone else says - I personally have only dealt with a little bit of the white/clear fluffy looking stuff and it disappeared of its own accord after a few days. I really doubt it's anything to be concerned about though.

Part of the decomposition process.....take it out & run it in the tap under real hot water & give it a good scrubbing.

Frank shoot me your address again....I'm gonna send you some Java Fern...nail it down on the DW w/ some electrician staples & you're good to go....that stuff won't come back...the JF will keep it down. I have it all over my driftwood....once it gets established, it grows well. B) Just no SD's anymore. they'll eat it!!!
