I own 2, 2-month old oscars. One is an albino oscar, and the other is a regular tiger oscar, theses past few weeks I have been noticing the regular tiger oscar having a large gash on his head and withered fins, but he seems fine, he still has his appetite, he swims around non-eradically and non-lethargically. I feel he might be getting the gash on his head from jumping out of the tank and hitting the cover, because at night I ham hear at least one of them jumping out of the water or at least splashing it. I also find it weird that my albino is doing just fine and my regular is getting these cuts and gashes. I also don't think the albino is picking on him because about a month ago, the regular tiger oscar was dominant and would nip at the albino if it got close to him.

Keeping the water clean is the best course of action. Perhaps there is some aggression and/or chasing at night. How big is the tank? Do you measure water parameters? Fish are still young and small, but it would be quite normal for them to suddenly dislike each other.

I may not be the Boss, but I'm ALWAYS right!
