I have a very like eassssssssy going oscar. He spends his days hiding and will occasionally come out do a few laps, check out the heater, cheat out the intake filter then go hangout behind the fake plant near the bubbles. Makes it difficult as when I am ready to feed him, he is nowhere to be found and I have to check back periodically to see if hes at the top of the tank. He won't look for food, but he will eat it if its dropped in front of him. Am I trying to hard to make sure he eats? Shall I let him tell me when he's ready to eat? I'm like a worried mother. Other days he does sprints back and forth like hes training for the spartan race. Any advice on what may be wrong or am I over analyzing it?

Soon as I turn my tank light out he came out, I might go buy a blue/purple moonlight bulb as I have two fixtures.

still having a lazy oscar, might be over analyzing it, looking for insight from more experienced.

sounds normal to me as long as he eats a little and doesn't sit in the same spot 24/7 he's probably ok

Don't dwell on what went wrong. Instead focus on what to do next
