I am the one that has the one Full sized Oscar in a 75 gallon. I fed him earth worms for 2-3 years.

Well, I moved after my divorce. He quit eating for 2 weeks. I quit trying to feed him. Well about 3 weeks in, he came to the top acting like he wanted food. No worms, all I had were pellets and I threw 2 in. He ate them. I turned the light out and went to bed. So now I am 6 weeks in and he only gets Hikari green and red pellets.

I am happy. This should get him back to full health.

So onto my question. How many should I give him on a daily basis? I still change 80% of water every other day.

So what do you guys say about that?

I'd probably recommend feeding as much as the Oscar can eat in a couple of minutes. He's an adult Oscar so doesn't really have to eat as much as a growing Oscar fish. Just don't get too paranoid about how long or how many pellets you should feed him.

I may not always be right, but I am always the BOSS :-)

Do as OFL said but give him some more variety of pellets. He doesn't need as much of green pellets as the red ones. You can give him frozen shrimp defrosted and chopped in to pieces as well as other pellets for omnivores and carnivores large fish.

So I just looked at home again, and His HOTH has gotten worse. I am keeping up on the water changes, and pellets only, but it is still getting worse.

What else can I do?

Better food with vitamin supplement. The green Hikari bag is I believe called Staple? Poor quality. The cichlid gold, red bag is far better. Fish is maybe still lacking vitamin and mineral from the previous worm only diet. You may also try Epsom salt solution with food. In a half cup of distilled water, dissolve 3/4 tsp of Epsom salt. Saturate a normal meal in this water. Feed this only for 5 consecutive days. If there is a parasite problem, the ES will knock them out.
