i hope they grow back for you matt.

when i had my arow. many years ago.... from my observation it seems as though they used them to feel vibrations in the water. mainly for ambushing prey. (just my observation)

The science I was able to find behind them was that they're related to catfish in this manner, since catfish whiskers are just really long barbels they use to find prey.

The similarity seems likely, but like you said, they could be vibration sensors. Heck for all we know, they could be some kind of reproductive thing :silly:

yeah, i think they use them like catfish. touch/feel sense, is in addition to sight.
