These are some of the fry from my pair, and I am not sure what to do with them. The parents have lymphocystis so there is a chance these guys could have the virus as well. I thought that the pleco would take care of the eggs or wiggler stage of these guys, but that was not the case. I plan on keeping a few to let grow out, but not 20 plus. The parents are separated and I don not plan on putting them back together so no more fry. I will probably have to euthanize most of them, but I really hate that idea.

Would you consider shipping them. What state are you in?

I am in Mobile, AL. and yes I would consider shipping, but it is very expensive to ship and since I can't guarantee their health you might be better off getting one from a dealer. I shipped some fish to a former member in WA, it cost around $70 and the package got lost.

Carpintis is one of my favorite fish. I've got room for a 75 gallon and have been trying to decide between a few fish, Carpintis being one of them. How long would you give me to decide? I'm in Chapel Hill, NC so they'd (or perhaps just one) have to be shipped which I'd cover of course. In the meantime, if another opportunity were to present itself, I would expect you to take advantage of it.

I am not going to do anything with them anytime soon, so the offer is pretty much open ended. I just wanted to make sure that you guys caught the part about the parents having lymphocystis which is a virus and can not be cured. It causes cauliflower like cyst generally at the base of the fins and around the gills. These cysts can come and go at any time, and are generally not harmful to the fish. My male has only had one out break, but the female has had several. Her is a link to some info on the subject

I would love to send some of these guy out, but don't want to misrepresent what they are, and honestly if it were me and I was going to pay to ship a fish I would get one from Rapps or similar sources. He has them listed at $7.50. Her is a video of the parents with fry, and you can see the cysts on the female at her left pectoral joint. Don't worry the pleco is fine, and yes I finally cleaned that crap of the filter siphon.

Not craving them as much as I used to, having taken on Dovii, Festae and RTM, but were it possible, I would take one, or some in. Would want some confirmation on the safety factor, but Dovii and Midas would take care of those fry for ya.

I have considered that, and honestly think it would be ok, The fry are probably fine, but there is no way to know for sure. Here is a quote from the article I referenced. I also think we need some updates on the fish you mentioned. B)

" Lymphocystis is spread by fish-to-fish contact or contact with infected tissues. External trauma from spawning, aggression, parasites, or handling can facilitate infection and spread. In addition, crowding, shipping, and other stressors appear to trigger disease outbreaks. Lymphocystis does not appear to be spread by vertical transmission (i.e., from parents to offspring via infection of eggs or sperm). "
