DMD123 created the topic: Paraneetroplus regani, Regan's Cichlid

Paraneetroplus regani, formerly classed as Vieja
Common name(s): Almoloya cichlid, Regan's Cichlid

This is my 11" male (believed to be male due to nuchal hump)

Origin: South Mexico

General: Personalities may differ but generally considered one of the more peaceful fish in the former vieja family. Males can develop a nuchal hump. This fish is said to be able to reach 14" in size.

Personal info on my regani: My fish came to me through a few different people but is believed to originate from Wet Spot Tropical in Portland, OR. It has proven to be a very peaceful and easy going inhabitant in a 210g communiy that includes other cichlids, bichirs and pleco. My wife named it 'Rainbow Brite' and the name just stuck.
